Director's Bio: The youngest of three children born to
Koh Keow-Hin and Tan Kim-Geok in Bedok, Singapore, Koh schooled himself
in films like most filmmakers do – on television reruns of old black
and white Hollywood movies and weekly trips to
the cinema. A liberal arts graduate of the National University of
Singapore, Koh majored in English Language and Philosophy in college
and worked as a journalist after his graduation. Koh made his first
foray into screenwriting with a short film script. The script wasn’t
produced into a film but was eventually staged as a short play in
Singapore’s Action Theatre’s First 42 Theatre Festival, where it was
nominated for the Audience Award for Best Promising New Play.
Encouraged, Koh wrote a few screenplays and peddled them around but met
with no success. Together with his wife, Janalin Tan, Koh decided to self-finance his film, eventually writing, producing and directing "25 To Life" with the help of his brother and friends.
